Welcome to the Compass Group Pension Plan

The Compass Group Pension Plan is a salary related defined benefit scheme.  It incorporates a number of schemes that have merged with it over the years.  It was closed to new entrants from 2003 and closed to future accrual of benefits from 2010.  The one exception is with regard to transferees from the public sector where we are obliged, currently, to provide a defined benefit scheme that is comparable to the public sector schemes from which they transfer - these are known as our GAD scheme members. It is important to be aware that due to the vast array of different benefits that exist within the Plan this website can only give general information about the benefits that may apply and so may differ to the specific benefits applicable to the reader.

Address verification letters to members

The Trustees of the Plan have recently carried out a review of the information held for members.  This review has highlighted that for some Plan members the existing address held may no longer be up-to-date.

The Trustees have asked XPS, a pensions consultancy formed from the merger of PS Administration Limited (who administered the Plan since 2016) with pensions consultancy Xafinity, to help update the Plan's address records.  A tracing service may, therefore, have been used to locate you at a new address and the Trustees need to clarify that they have traced the correct person.

If this applies to you, XPS will have asked you to notify certain elements of your personal information.  To do this you will need the reference information contained in the letter and to log onto https://www.xpsverification.com/compass.

Protected Rights letters to members

Over the last few years there have been some changes in pensions legislation which mean that some members who only have a Protected Rights fund left in the Plan can now receive a refund of this fund.

The Trustees have asked XPS, a pensions consultancy formed from the merger of PS Administration Limited (who administered the Plan since 2016) with pensions consultancy Xafinity, to help contact these members and letters have been sent directly to them.

If this applies to you, XPS will have asked you to verify certain elements of your personal information.  To do this you will need the reference information contained in the letter and to log onto https://www.xpsoptions.com/compass.

Compass Group Pension Plan (“the Plan”) - Administration Services

The Trustees of the Plan have been reviewing the administration service provided to the Plan to ensure that members continue to receive a high quality service.

As a result of this review, it has been decided to transfer the administration currently carried out by the in-house team to an outsourced provider.  PS Administration Limited (“PSAL”) has been chosen to provide pensions administration services for the Plan with effect from 1 September 2016.

What does this mean for you?

This change will have no effect on the value of your benefits.

and a number of frequently asked questions can be found here.

Why have PSAL been selected?

PSAL is a leading provider of pension administration services, and were selected following a long and rigorous selection process.  The Trustees are confident that PSAL will provide you with a high quality service through a dedicated team and that you will benefit from the combination of its investment in innovative technology and experience.  The Trustees will continue to monitor the administration service and track PSAL’s performance over time.

The Trustees have engaged with Compass Group PLC throughout the process and they are fully supportive of the decision the Trustees have made.

PSAL have set up a new office in Chelmsford and by doing so have been able to retain the majority of the current in-house team, so the knowledge and detailed understanding of your pension scheme and its history will be retained, as well as having new team members.  The Trustees believe this is important in ensuring a smooth transition and the continuation of quality services for members.
